Why?
The most important key to success is taking up charge of what you do because when you know that you are 100% responsible for what you do, you don’t just try your best but you actually do your best. By being responsible you blame yourself for anything good, bad or ugly in your business and not anyone or anything else.

When you take responsibility, you discover that you have the power to change your beliefs, your conduct and your results. When you believe you can change things for good, you can innovate and when you innovate, you move ahead to success.
What it means to us?
No one likes to trust people who blame others and don’t accept or take up responsibility for their own work. Even with us, we expect our employees to be responsible and deliver timely.
Once, we came across a person who never took responsibility of his actions, blamed bad weather or health problems for delay in his work. This not only effected his growth and productivity but our work suffered too. So it’s our aim to be responsible for what we do, how we do it and when we do it? The outcome of our actions is our responsibility not other’s and we will be the ones to suffer.
So if something goes wrong, instead of blaming others we ask these simple questions to ourselves – “How did we reach here? What were we thinking? What did we do or failed to do? Where did we go wrong? What do we need to do differently next time, to achieve our goals?”

What we are and what we will be in future is completely our responsibility, we do not blame others for delay in our work. We believe that, blaming others or giving excuses won’t change anything, but taking up 100% responsibility for our work will bring the real change.

Along with WOW, you also need to make sure that you deliver your service on time. Delay in work will never be noticed and get you appreciation but timely service with WOW effect will get you success.

Eg. Instead of saying – “There’s a problem I need to solve.”
You can say – “Here’s a new challenge or opportunity for me.”

Champion each other in the team.
Why?
By championing we don’t mean competing each other, instead we mean to encourage or support each other. For a good team spirit, it is really important to help your team-mates and support them. Treat them as your equal, share anything new that you learned with them, help them grow with you and grow yourself with them. When you share what you learn and praise other’s work too, you step forward towards growth. When you grow, you succeed.

The final outcome of any task depends on the team work, no single individual can reach success, and everyone needs a team to work with them for their ultimate goal. When you champion your team-mates; motivate and praise them for their work, learn from them, you grow faster. But when you treat them as competition; try to be 1st in all the things you do and not share your learning with others, you end up being alone on your path and face more difficulties.

If anyone of them is missing then our goal becomes tough to achieve. You may be passionate about what you do but if you are not determined enough to achieve it, the pace of getting success in your work will slow down. There won’t be anything to run with the fuel i.e. passion. Determination is fueled up by passion and passion drives determination.

Just like your body needs exercise to be in shape, your brain also needs to exercise regularly. Curiosity flexes your brain muscles and keeps it in shape. You gain new knowledge from it, which you can imply on your business.

@WS we think ahead of us. There are always more than one way to do a thing, we not only take interest in our own work but also be curious about what and how others are doing things. We model those ahead of us and are ready to learn from them. It does not mean we copy their methods, it means we understand what they are doing? Why they are doing it and how they are doing it? We look outside our sphere of influence and observe what we can and learn from it.
Eg. Reading books outside your usual scope. Your interest maybe in Philosophy but one day due to curiosity you can read a book about science fiction. It might not be of your interest but you may learn new things from it and it will broaden your scope of thinking. It may encourage you to think beyond your own scope of interest.

Implementing what you have learned is equally important. We truly learn a thing when we implement it and experience from its result. We cannot know in advance what result a method that we learned, will produce for us. Each individual has his/her own unique experience. Just like no individual thinks the same, no individual gets same result/experience.
Eg. Two people learned same ways to cut an apple but when they implemented their learning with same resources and knowledge, their results/experiences differed. One got small even pieces while the other got uneven pieces.
